All patient weight must be documented in kilograms (kg) not pounds (lb) in EMS Charts. This will become a hard (red) validation on October 12, 2026.

Back to the Basics: Soft Restraints
This 15-minute Back to the Basics module helps EMTs make ethical, safe, and policy-aligned decisions when soft restraints may be needed during a behavioral emergency. Learners will analyze indications and contraindications, review safe positioning and continuous monitoring, apply manufacturer-aligned restraint principles in realistic scenarios, and reinforce the documentation and medical-control requirements that protect patient dignity and provider safety.
